Tempest is the home of Audi and Mercedes performance tuning in the UK. Their cars are exclusive creations, modified for passion and purpose.

From back street garage to international tuning brand: when Tempest decided it was time to move their image up a gear, they engaged the services of Fantastic Media to supercharge their marketing.

Born from motorsport, the Tempest name had gathered a small cult following drawn to the skills and passion of the founder, Troy Tempest.

The Brief.

To formulate a detailed plan to activate the evolved Tempest brand. The number one priority for Tempest was return on investment. They needed to generate leads quickly and establish the foundations of their premium tuning brand to show how aspirational, credible, and exciting their business truly is.

The Research.

We analysed the business and market to discover what Tempest really needed from us. We found their target audience. We found their tone of voice and we found out how to elevate this brand. How to spark excitement, desire and trust while showing the value for money and premium nature of the brand.

The Big Idea.

The Tempest name had quickly become a byword for expert engineering and precision tuning.

With Fantastic’s help, the Tempest proposition was fine-tuned and clearly articulated. The quality of their engineering and bespoke tuning packages is now matched by Fantastic’s visual branding and emotive imagery.

The Tempest brand itself was given a completely new identity and logo, inspired by the power of a raging storm.

Using a lightning bolt for the ‘T’ in Tempest, creating custom backgrounds that incorporated tempestuous weather and using bold blacks and reds to emphasise speed and power.

Video was chosen to communicate the visceral appeal of a tuned, high-performance sports car. Through highly stylised footage, fast edits and rousing soundtracks, the Tempest brand was completely reinvented for a digital audience.

Fantastic brought exhilaration and power to Tempest. We lost the DIY feel and became a recognisable brand, with our own identity and professional look and feel. It’s a brand to be proud of with a clear commercial offering to match.
