Operating in the world of fire safety, QDOS is an established brand with a strong reputation amongst their existing customers.
Already seen as a market leader in their niche, QDOS came to Fantastic and asked us a very simple question. Can you make good, better? Our answer was of course and that we could go even further and we could make good……. Fantastic!
The Brief.
Over recent years, QDOS had been undertaking a series of in-house marketing initiatives. Whilst a good place to start they had come to realise that for the business to achieve its next level of growth they needed to think and act bigger. As well as this their brand identity and outward facing collateral was starting to feel a little tired and was lacking a set of cohesive visuals and messaging.
With some specific objectives in mind they asked Fantastic to look at ways in which their brand could be enhanced alongside the planning and execution of a solid marketing plan.
The Research.
Having spent a day with the leadership team at QDOS we undertook a comprehensive programme of research spanning areas such as existing activity, competitors, target audiences as well as getting to grips with understanding the needs and pain points of their customers, customers. We quickly came to realise that to a large extent QDOS had no direct competitors and that the challenge ahead of us was to drive better value and create more impact with our activities through introducing a suite of new marketing tactics, improving creative execution and addressing some fundamental technical challenges with their web and marketing presence.

The Big Idea.
The first area we addressed was to refine the way in which the main QDOS logo was utilised. Over recent years, as their service offering grew, a trend had emerged where to some extent each new service would get its own colour and effectively its own version of the QDOS logo. Our solution was to maintain colour coding but to migrate this away from having a range of logos and instead created a suite of crisp, clear and concise iconography. From here we were then able to introduce a refreshed tone of voice, complemented by a defined set of messages that promoted the organisations heritage, expertise, specialist knowledge and other key selling points. This culminated in four core statements, made up of the four letters in QDOS.

The Activity
With our visual identity and messaging suitably refreshed we set about addressing the technical issues of the previous website as well as creating a promotional brand video that embodied the products services, benefits and features of QDOS. This then fed in to a 12 month plan of marketing activity that encapsulated paid advertising, content creation and optimisation, organic social, e-mail marketing, PR and direct mail.
Results
The design and build of the new website quickly saw tangible results as the site saw dramatic increases in the volume and position in which their core phrases ranked.
In terms of results from marketing activity, some highlights have included QDOS achieving their best ever month at the start of 2024 followed by the most site conversions ever achieved. Add to this that the 12 months QDOS has worked with us has been their best ever year and it’s safe to say we’re ecstatic to have helped a great business become Fantastic!
We were recently treated to a corporate hospitality event at Elland Road by our marketing marvels at @FantasticMedia!
Around 12 months ago, we were at the very same ground where we noticed Fantastic Media’s advertising and decided to consider outsourcing our marketing activity. We previously employed someone ‘in house’ but felt having access to a full, integrated agency, with in house graphic designers, videographers, web developers, content writers and digital specialists, was where we needed to be as QDOS continued to grow.
12 months on and we have never looked back! From the initial meeting and business analysis, Fantastic took the time to understand every aspect of what we do, and tailored a package that supports our needs. Working with Fantastic has given us access to a full marketing team for the price of one member of staff!
As for the results – they speak for themselves. We have been blown away with a record year with increases in turnover, staff and new customers.
