Our team turned out in force to look after a stretch of the River Colne in support of the Greenstreams Project.

Greenstreams is a project dedicated to making the most of the rivers in the Huddersfield area for the benefit of both people and wildlife. We recently worked with the charity to deliver an informative and attractive website to encourage more business and individual support.

We helped out at a Colnebridge site which includes over a mile of riverside footpath, when first developed around 10 years ago there was little public access to the River Colne. Various improvements have been undertaken since that time including the creation of the first formal canoe launch on the river, a major woodland thinning project to improve the site for wildlife and a pedestrian link to the Calder Valley Cycle Route.

Our volunteers got stuck in and helped remove litter, clear overgrown footpaths and even cut down a few trees blocking the pathways. Andrew Hobson, Managing Director of Fantastic Media, commented:
