Our team recently helped out at a community event organised by social enterprise and Fantastic partners; Legacy Sport.
Established in 2011, the ultimate aim of Legacy Sport is to promote healthy, active lifestyles that have a positive impact in the community.
In order to celebrate the World Cup Legacy Sport created the Year 5 World Cup challenge, which saw young people come together and enjoy different sporting events. Five schools from the Kirklees district attended including Norristhorpe, Headlands, Littletown, Hartshead and Roberttown.
Around 180 year five pupils participated in the event which took place at Spen Valley High School, each team represented 16 different World Cup countries. Eight stations formed the event and allowed the children to win points for their team. Challenges included an obstacle relay, speed bounce and a football World Cup competition.
Members of our team were on hand to interact with the children and assist the Legacy Sport team. Photography and social media also played a huge part in the day to document the first official Legacy Sport Schools Challenge.
James, Paul, Megan and Beth of Fantastic Media presented the medals to teams finishing in third, second and first place
