National Apprenticeship Week soon comes around quickly every year and it’s a great time to celebrate the positive impact of Apprenticeships on young people and businesses.
This year’s theme is ‘Skills for Life’, which explores the ways Apprenticeships can help people to develop skills that they will use in their careers for the rest of their lives. To celebrate this 16th annual National Apprenticeship Week, we talk to our Digital Marketing Apprentices, Seth Leech and Annie White to discuss what this year’s theme, ‘Skills for Life’ means to them.
Annie and Seth are on the Estio Level 3 Digital Marketer course, which involves learning about: Marketing Principles, The Principles of Coding, Google Analytics, Content Marketing and much more. Together they are learning as they work full time and gaining many skills for life in the workplace whilst working towards their professional qualifications.
Seth is now three months into his Apprenticeship and enjoying the balance of work and study. Seth says: “It’s great to be part of an integrated marketing agency, learning skills for life and becoming a marketeer. At Fantastic Media there is a large skillset to learn from and you get lots of opportunities to do different elements of marketing so I’m learning something new every day. Learning about digital such as Google Analytics and paid advertising will be skills for life that I can keep developing. And since joining the agency the best experience has been building adverts for Skopes on Facebook, this project was extremely interesting, and I feel like I’m building my skills in digital every single day.”
Annie joined us after completing her A-Levels in English, Psychology and Business at Parkside School. She says: “I love the fact that I can explore all roles within digital marketing, this could be content creation, paid advertising or social media, just to name a few. I’m working with a range of different clients which excites me, no two days are the same.”
Annie adds: “I’ve already learned so much through putting theory into practice. Seeing my ideas come to life and be used for clients has helped me to understand the full process behind building campaigns and working within an integrated agency. I’ve been getting involved in an array of client email campaigns, blogposts and taking projects from a brief, right the way through to delivery. It’s been fascinating learning about how everything works and comes together.”
The most rewarding part of employing Apprentices at Fantastic is that we get to watch them grow, build skills for life, and one day become the leaders of the future.
